Module 4 The Southern Tip of Africa and the Little Karoo
From Cape Town to Cape Town - ± 960 km
Hermanus – Arniston / Cape Agulhas – Oudtshoorn – Montagu – Paarl - Cape Town
First: Hermanus, the self-proclaimed "Whale Capital" of the World. From July to November the whales come to the local bay to give birth to their calves. Whale watching from the shore! The small town of Arniston lies close to the southernmost tip of the African continent where the Indian and the Atlantic Oceans meet. In Oudtshoorn – the "Home of the Ostrich" – you have the opportunity to learn many interesting facts about the biggest bird in the world on Ostrich farms. A visit to the huge Cango Caves is also highly recommended. On the 'Route 62' you will pass through the Little Karoo to Montagu. What about taking a bath in the hot springs? Paarl – the 'Pearl' of the wine lands is the next stopover, before you arrive back in Cape Town.
