Module 7 Hinterland and West Coast

From Bloemfontein to Cape Town - ± 1560 km

Kimberley – Upington – Augrabies Falls / Kakamas – Namaqualand – Clanwilliam – Cape Town

Drive from Bloemfontein to Kimberley. This city owes its origin to the first diamond that was found in South Africa. Interesting to see here are the "Big Hole", the largest ever man-made hole, dug for open cast diamond mining, and the Kimberley Mine Museum. Upington is home to the largest wine cooperative in the country. Always worthwhile a visit. The Augrabies Waterfalls of the Orange River count among the 6 largest in the world. An impressive natural wonder. The Namakwaland, known for its wild flowers (± end of August until end of September), is your next destination. From Clanwilliam you have the opportunity to explore the mountainous world of the Cedarberge with its many rock paintings to explore, before you reach the "Mother City" Cape Town.
